“I would say that the likelihood of military action against Iran is 100 percent.” - Neoconservative Frank Gaffney.

There have been between50,000 and 500,000 war-related deaths in Iraq since we invaded. The cost of the Iraq war will soon reach a trillion dollars.

“Could we have managed [the threat of Saddam Hussein]by means other than a direct military intervention? Well, maybe we could have.” Neoconservative Richard Perle.

“If we don’t stop extending our troops all around the world in nation-building missions, then we’re going to have a serious problem.” — George W. Bush, Jan. 2001.

Flying fish caught on video

Writing by Webmaster on Tuesday, 20 of May , 2008 at 12:24 pm - Leave a comment - 49 views

Some remarkable footage of a flying fish has been captured by a TV crew filming off the southern tip of Japan.

It is claimed to be one of the longest recorded flights of this acrobatic animal.

The fish was completely airborne for 45 seconds. This beats one previous, impressive report from an American researcher in the 1920s of 42 seconds.

The animal is seen travelling parallel to a ferry, which itself is motoring at about 30km/hour (20mph).

There are some 40 species of “flying fish” in the family known as Exocoetidae. The animals are found worldwide in warmer waters.

Their flight ability comes from a glide rather than a powered flapping. view video at Flying fish on BBC & more info at Flying fish on Wikipedia

Worlds Tallest Building

Writing by Webmaster on Tuesday, 20 of May , 2008 at 12:14 pm - Leave a comment - 54 views

As of today, the Burj Dubai skyscraper in the Middle East stands at 650 meters, and here’s a diagram found on the SkyscraperCity forums, comparing it to all the other towers. The construction has finally surpassed the current tallest man-made structure, the Warsawa radio mast in Poland, which stands at 646 meters. Only another 169 meters to go before the tip of the aircraft beacon is up.

At  2,063.6 ft and more than 160 stories high, Burj Dubai is now the world’s tallest building and tallest man-made structure having recently surpassed the height of the KVLY-TV mast in North Dakota, USA - 628.8 metres (2,063 ft). Burj Dubai is taller than Taipei 101 (508 metres; 1667 ft) in Taiwan and CN Tower (553.33 metres; 1815.5 ft) in Toronto, Canada.

When completed, Burj Dubai will meet all four criteria listed by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH), which classifies the world’s tallest structures. CTBUH measures the height of buildings to the structural top, the highest occupied floor, the top of the roof and the tip of the spire, pinnacle, antenna, mast or flag pole.

Burj Dubai has already sold a 11000 sq ft of office space on the 94th floor to a European buyer for a whopping 12 million dollars in an online deal. Eqarat.com, the Dubai-based real estate sales agent, today said it has sold the highest office floor in the world to a European investor. from Gizmodo

Why Generation Y will change the web

Writing by Webmaster on Monday, 19 of May , 2008 at 3:04 pm - Leave a comment - 46 views

Generation YGen Y is taking over. The generation of young adults that’s composed of the children of Boomers, Generation Jones, and even some Gen X’ers, is the biggest generation since the Baby Boomers and three times the size of Gen X. As the Boomers fade into retirement and Gen Y takes root in the workplace, we’re going to see some big changes ahead, not just at work, but on the web as a whole. There’s some contention over where exactly Gen Y starts and stops - some say those born 1983-1997, others think 1982-1997. In this week’s Entertainment Weekly, Gen Y is defined as “current 13 to 31 year-olds” and BusinessWeek says they can be as young as five. Regardless, we know who they are - they’re the young kids of today, the most digitally active generation yet, having been born plugged in. more at ReadWriteWeb

In my opinion we already see this happening with a certain political campaign. The one and only with plans for technology for a trully open government.

ancient money

Strange seeing actual currency stated in these state’s bills. Silver coin or Gold coins. Money no longer has value but Gold is still standard. Check out Wacky Archives for over 25 of these past designs.

R2-45 Process

Writing by Webmaster on Wednesday, 14 of May , 2008 at 9:52 am - Leave a comment - 30 views

Guns & Ammo 1R2-45 is a Scientology auditing process created by L. Ron Hubbard.

The process of R2-45 specifically pertains to shooting the target with a Colt .45 pistol, causing the victim’s “thetan” (soul or spirit) to leave the body (exteriorization). In 1952 during a meeting in Phoenix, Arizona, Hubbard demonstrated the process of R2-45 by firing a shot at the floor.

Hubbard’s 1954 handbook The Creation of Human Ability includes a brief mention of the “auditing process”:

R2-45: AN ENORMOUSLY EFFECTIVE PROCESS FOR EXTERIORIZATION BUT ITS USE IS FROWNED UPON BY THIS SOCIETY AT THIS TIME.

L. Ron Hubbard (all caps as per the original)

In a lecture of 1958, Hubbard comments that “Death is not the same as clearing but there is, remember, R2-45. It’s a very valid technique. A lot of people have used it before now.” (Read more…)
