20 Amazing Facts About Voting In The United States

Writing by Webmaster on Friday, 31 of October , 2008 at 6:17 pm - Comments (1) - 9 views

Diebold1. 80% of all votes in America are counted by only two companies: Diebold and ES&S.
2. There is no federal agency with regulatory authority or oversight of the US voting machine industry.
3. The vice-president of Diebold and the president of ES&S are brothers.
4. The chairman and CEO of Diebold is a major Bush campaign organizer and donor who wrote in 2003 that he was "committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the president next year."
5. 35% of ES&S is owned by Republican Senator Chuck Hagel, who became Senator based on votes counted by ES&S machines.
6. Republican Senator Chuck Hagel, a long-time friend of the Bush family, was caught lying about his ownership of ES&S by the Senate Ethics Committee.
7. Senator Chuck Hagel was on a short list of George W. Bush’s vice- presidential candidates.
8. ES&S is the largest voting machine manufacturer in the US and counts almost 60% of all US votes.
9. Diebold’s new touch screen voting machines have no paper trail of any votes. In other words, there is no way to verify that the data coming out of the machine is the same as what was legitimately put in by voters.
10. Diebold also makes ATMs, checkout scanners, and ticket machines, all of which log each transaction and can generate a paper trail
11. Diebold is based in Ohio. Operation central of the 2004 voter fraud activities.
12. Diebold employs 5 convicted felons as developers. These are the people who write the voting machine computer code.
13. Diebold’s Senior Vice-President, Jeff Dean, was convicted of 23 counts of felony theft in the first degree.
14. Diebold Senior Vice-President Jeff Dean was convicted of planting back doors in his software and using a "high degree of sophistication" to evade detection over a period of 2 years.
15. None of the international election observers were allowed in the polls in Ohio.
16. California banned the use of Diebold machines because the security was so bad. Despite Diebold’s claims that the audit logs could not be hacked, a chimpanzee was able to do it!
17. 30% of all US votes are carried out on unverifiable touch screen voting machines with no paper trail. Bush’s Help America Vote Act of 2002 has as its goal to replace all machines with the new electronic touch screen systems with no paper trail.
18. All — not some — but all the voting machine errors detected and reported went in favor of Bush or Republican candidates.
19. The governor of the state of Florida, Jeb Bush, is the President’s brother. Home base of 2000 voter fraud activities.
20. Major statistical voting oddities (odds on the order of 250 million to 1!) — again always favoring Bush — have been mathematically demonstrated by experts

Postal Service Looks To Cut 40,000 Jobs In It’s First Layoff In History

Writing by Webmaster on Thursday, 30 of October , 2008 at 10:59 pm - Comments (1) - 38 views

United States Postal Service

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - "We lost 2 billion dollars and like any other business we have to stay afloat." And to keep from sinking, the United States Postal Service is considering cutting thousands of jobs nationwide.  Lavelle Pepper with the post office in Shreveport says they too are feeling the affects of the same disease hitting the country… a struggling economy. "We employ about 685,000 people. If we do layoffs it would include clerks, carriers, mail handlers across all crafts."

Pepper says the postal service is looking to eliminate 40,000 jobs nationwide. There’s not an exact number on how many of those could be from the Ark-La-Tex. Pepper says workers who are not part of union with six or less years of service would likely be the first on the chopping block. "We’ve identified 16 thousand people that are not covered under contract. We’ll see what those numbers add up to."

The postal service is also offering early retirement packages to workers over the age of 50 who have more than 20 years on the job. But according to pepper it may not be enough. "The preliminary numbers look like it’s not going to be enough and we may have to do something else." But despite what may happen, Pepper says customers will not feel the pain they’re going through.  "The general public when it takes place won’t se any decrease in service.. They largely won’t know about it." LINK

Who are these talking heads on 24 hour news shows?

Writing by Webmaster on Thursday, 30 of October , 2008 at 10:54 pm - Leave a comment - 22 views

Analyst, Consultant, Insider, Lobbyist, Strategists, Directors, and Managers. How many titles can there be? Are these people’s “opinions” blindly stated as facts considered “news” worthy? Who can remember when news was a single person for a half hour talking about the nation/world in general, and the occasional “journalistic” 3 minute spots here and there.

Todd Boulanger takes the cake.

Tesla Model S pictured, 240 Miles Per Charge, 0 - 60 in 6 secs, $60,000

Tesla Model S All Electric Vehicle Car

Tesla Roadster - Tesla's First Electric CarWe knew good and well it was on the way, but now we’re bubbling over with excitement. The forthcoming Model S — an all-electric, five passenger sports sedan that will ride on a platform developed entirely by Tesla — has apparently been revealed. Of course, there’s still a real possibility that the image you’re drooling on above isn’t a finalized look, but Road & Track has a pretty good record to fall back on. We’re also hearing that the 2010-bound whip will get around 240 miles per charge while still doing the zero to sixty in under six ticks, and the $60,000 base price just makes it all the more appealing. Iran’s Proxy War, Hezbollah, Kurds, PKK, PJAK

Writing by Webmaster on Saturday, 25 of October , 2008 at 7:22 am - Leave a comment - 19 views

This is journalism at its best, I feel we should give her a medal and use her as an example to 24 hour news networks.

Is the US already at war with Iran? In "America’s Secret War", Vanguard correspondent Mariana van Zeller travels to the Iraq-Iran border to investigate claims that the United States is supporting militant groups that are attacking Iran. In the rugged Qandil mountains, she meets with up with anti-Iranian guerillas who have been launching deadly raids against the Islamic Republic. A good percentage of the fighters are women, and Mariana accompanies a small group of them through what many believe has become the frontline of the US’s secret war with Iran.

The story continues. Another proxy war led by the American government. This happened so many times before under Reagan’s administration and we had George H.W. Bush and his war in Nicaragua against the Sandanistas. Remember the Contras and Ollie North? Remember the illegal funding of the Contras and the selling of weapons to Iran for money to finance the Contras? But no one remember the thousands that died under this war. Things haven’t changed. Bush Sr. = Bush Jr.? You Betcha, this should have been predictable.

And btw, who can say they knew this much about IRAN, Kurds, PKK, PJAK and Hezbollah before?

The First All Electric Mini, The Mini E

Writing by Webmaster on Tuesday, 21 of October , 2008 at 10:14 pm - Comments (1) - 8 views

The much-anticipated, well-expected MINI E — the first all-electric MINI — is headed our way before you know it. BMW’s built itself a decent performer, offering 204 hp of electric motor in a setup quite similar to the Tesla. The car boasts a 150 mile range off its 35 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, can hit 62 mph in 8.5 seconds, and does a full charge off of an included high current charging station in a mere 2.5 hours. There’s naturally a regenerative braking system on board to help beef up the battery in city driving. BMW plans on leasing 500 of these to commercial and private customers in California, New York and New Jersey sometime early 2009, and Europe might get a crack at the car soon after that. No word yet on when we’ll see this car ready for the masses, but perhaps we’ll get more info when the MINI E makes its "debut" at the LA Auto Show next month. more at autoblog.com

No, not the Bush picture again. Ok, maybe one more time. But this Chimp actually knows to bail out when is about to crash. Amazing the intelligence of these creatures.

Could have done without the Japanese audience though.

Study: Coffee Can Shrink Boobs, Grow Moobs

Writing by Webmaster on Monday, 20 of October , 2008 at 8:17 pm - Comments (4) - 61 views

Sweden: According to research carried out by Helena Jernstroem of Lund University a coffee intake of more than three cups a day may cause breast shrinkage in women. In men the opposite is true - excess intake may cause an increase in ‘moob’ size.

According to researchers just under 50 percent of women have a genetic component which links coffee consumption and breast shrinkage. The news is not all bad for coffee with researchers finding that regular caffeine reduces breast cancer risk.

"Coffee-drinking women do not have to worry their breasts will shrink to nothing overnight. They will get smaller, but the breasts aren’t just going to disappear," said Jernstroem. more at LINK.
